Pictures

I tried to include these below, but blogger wouldn't do it for some reason. These were all taken the night he was born or morning after.

Thank you so much, ladies! I think he's perfect, too! It's funny, because he doesn't even look that much like these pictures anymore. Now he's all eyes open and looking around, and his face isn't as swollen from squeezing through my birth canal. And his head is normal now, too. That one picture of me holding him, that was about 2 hours after he was born, so, to give you an idea.....

I will post more pictures of him that are more recent (it's funny that for a newborn, 'recent' is a matter of days different.

Two things I forgot for to mention before:

1. He had what they call a true knot in his umbilical cord. That means that when he was smaller, he moved around so much that he looped around and back through his umbilical cord, making a knot. It almost never happens, and, it can be a complication. Obviously, it wasn't for me, but, had he moved around more or tugged on it while in utero he could have cut off his own supply of--well, everything--fetuses get everything through their umbilical cord--and he could have died. And while coming out, he could have also pulled it tight and that could have been a complication then, but, it wasn't. He didn't pull it, he came out fine--and I am so thankful. But they don't know about that true knot thing until he's coming out, or, you've lost your baby. They don't show up in the u/s. I can't help but think, that maybe while I was all nervous and pregnant and terrified that something could go wrong--maybe it was intuition telling me about that knot or something, telling me that he was in potential danger. Or, maybe I am crazy for suggesting that.

2. My placenta was quite big. About 8 pounds. I got on the scale before leaving the birth center, and I had lost 16 pounds giving birth. I gained 23 pounds total during my pregnancy, and at my 1 week appointment, I had lost 26. Nice.

Thank you for loving him:) I think he's just amazing and wonderful too!
