Hello? Is anyone still there???
Hello! How are things going!?! Well, I did it--I got married. Woo-hoo! Since I haven't posted in forever, well, sorry. I know, I suck.
But the wedding was great! For those of you who were there, I hope you had a lot of fun, and I think you did. There were some definite highlights, here is a small list of the things I look back on most fondly.
- Kevin gave me a gorgeous bracelet at the rehearsal dinner. Awww. He also wrote out this super sweet card all about how he loved me so much and was so excited that I was going to be his wife. Awww. And while I was reading it, Terry slapped a picture of Kevin at a strip club with a bunch of strippers across the table to me. Lovely. (Actually, it was funny, really).
- A couple of my bridesmaids described themselves using terms such as 'Republican housewife' after they got their hair done, and were really concerned that they looked 'too Republican'. It was funny. I love those girls.
- A couple of us had a tough time squeezing into our undergarments. For those of you who might not have ever been involved in dressing for a wedding, or, if you happen to be a man, sometimes there is a need for corsets. And yes, these are exactly like the torture devices you imagine from Medieval times. Sometimes these corsets can be tricky, and tough to get on. Luckily, my sister in law was able to save the day, because she is apparently a corset master. I won't forget that, it will come in handy someday I think. Hmmm. I don't know when, but I am sure it will.
- Kevin did his fabulous interpretation of a Chippendale dancer right before he took my garter off to throw to a bunch of guys. It was hilarious.
- During the ceremony, my adorable nephew Ben didn't want to sit down. He only wanted to hang out by the altar, or with his mom, while she was standing up in front of the whole church. I think Kirsten felt bad about this, but well, I thought it was funny.
- How about when I introduced Kevin to the first people in the receiving line as my fiancee? Haha! I am a retard.
- The trolley. That was great.
- At one point, my brother and a couple of my friends went outside, took off their shirts and put their vests and ties back on, and came in to dance for a while like that. It was funny.
- The played the song that my parents danced to for the first dance, and dedicated it to them. Awww. I hope that Kevin and I are married that long.
- Kevin's friend Jeremy broke one of his front teeth off, and was so drunk he didn't know it. I heard rumors that he kept picking it up off the floor and putting it back in his mouth, then he would gag on it and spit it back out, only to repeat. Jeremy is also famous for what those were were at the wedding came to know as 'the ass dance'. It was hilarious.
Now, these moments are not in order. I just wrote them in as I thought about them. I tried to put them in order, but honestly, I can't. I like them all the same.
We leave for Jamaica for a belated honeymoon on April 7th. It sucks when you don't have enough vacation time to get married and take a honeymoon in the same year. Boo.
And to those of you who are wondering--no, I'm not pregnant yet. Don't worry, you will so know when I am!!
But my brother is! Oh, well, I mean his wife is.....so I will be an Aunt again! God, I am so good at being an Aunt!
Hey, maybe this is time for another post. Oh, and if you can think of anything else that rocked about the wedding, let me know. I had such a great time though--it was everything I always wanted in a wedding--lots of booze, lots of cake, lots of people, lots of dancing--I always just wanted everyone to have a good time.
Sorry for my hiatus. I plan to come back, I plan to learn how to post pictures, and I plan to invite my entire family to participate. So, hopefully, my two loyal readers of past will continue to read!
